Hello there!
 

Our Jenssen family has been on Silverstrand Avenue in Hermosa since 1949.

 

My parents (on the left, Dick and Peggy) were both teachers and were able to purchase the hilltop lot. In 1951, they built our family home and all four Jenssen kids grew up in this paradise.

 

A couple remodels later, our family home still stands holding all the memories and love from over 70 years of Jenssens, their family and friends.

 

Having attended North School, then Pier Avenue (as the last graduating class) and Mira Costa High School, I am a successful product of Hermosa Schools.

 

I currently hold a BA (Bilingual Liberal Studies) and an MA (Educational Technology) and have had a long career in education. I currently teach adult ESL and High School Diploma South Bay Adult School.

 

I have been mosaicking since 2012 with my first surfboard and have been creating ever since. So much of who I am is where I came from and the culture I grew up in.

 

My kindergarten bestie, Yvonne, works right here, at Boccatos! Franco, and the Boccato family, have been very supportive of my artistry and I am so very grateful for their support!

 

Hermosa IS the ‘best little beach city’ for SO many reasons…community support is just one of them!
